In this entry I will expose a topic that changed the course of my life in the vocational field and that would make me decide what I would study, it all started in a biology class where the teacher explained what bacteriophages were.

I do not remember clearly what she said, but what I found must be similar. Bacteriophages are viruses that infect or attack bacteria exclusively, the term derives from bacteria and from the Greek phagein, which means to devour, there are different types of bacteriophages, which are classified depending on their morphological form that can be seen by microscopy.

My interest in bacteriophages was born mainly because of their peculiar shape, which, in my opinion, seems to be taken out of a science fiction movie, later my interest evolved towards the possible usefulness of bacteriophages in the treatment of diseases caused by bacteria. As there is a specialization of bacteriophages and of the bacteria they are going to attack, this specificity could be used to perform complementary therapies to different drugs.

My favorite bacteriophage because of its shape is called T4, which coincidentally was the one presented by the teacher in biology class when I was still in school, also mention that this bacteriophage attacks the bacterium Escherichia coli, a name that whenever I pronounce it makes me laugh, I do not know why.

I have to mention that the background of my computer screen is a microscopic photograph of bacteriophages.

 Everything I am going to write happened at the Teatro Universidad de Concepción, in 2014 on August 29 and 30, you may ask why 2 days, the answer is simple, because it was a double presentation of an opera in which I had to sing. Blog entry 2

Since I was a child, I had an idea to be a medic, and I kept this idea until high school, but I had a change the idea that I just hoped to study Biochemist, I did not have another career in mind. The reason why I decided to enter biochemistry is based on different moments that I experienced in high school, the main reason was for a conference of biochemists in the school, which speak about the temary and the different activities that they carried out in this career. Another moment was when we went to visit an industry, where there was a laboratory that worked on microbiology, and it caught my attention.  Hello, greetings to my readers Today's topic will be my future job or the job I want to have. Research is a job that caught my attention long before entering the university, a job in which there is the possibility of expanding the knowledge of the world and sometimes improve the quality of life of people interested me immediately, research by the comments received by teachers and close people always mention the hard work behind all research.
